My bun was patted down by the TSA tonight. I jokingly thought it might happen and even contemplated taking my bun down to avoid it, but after the recent discovery of cocaine in a woman’s locs in a Thailand airport, I can’t say I blame them for checking…But I’m still not sure how I feel about it.

This is ridiculous. Have HUGE hair? Fine. I can deal, I guess; but you’re just gonna stop every black woman with natural hair now, huh? Been reading too many reports of women with TWAs (short fros) or stretched fros or short locs or locs that are down being acosted. Yeah, our hair has that shrinkage quality going on, but it’s not fucking magical. Harass everyone with hair or don’t touch me.

It’s no different than stopping every Arab, and I’m not okay with that either.
